Celebrated for his soulful and organic glass sculptural designs that are highly collected, Erwin Walter Burger (1909-1982) also created a number of more commercial pieces for the leading mid-century Italian glass companies. This glass picture frame is hand-blown in turquoise glass using two shaped pieces joined to allow a photo to slide in-between. It can stand vertically, horizontally or flat - gorgeous in any position. Created in the 1940s while he was employed at the famed Fontana Arte in Milan. Engraved initials.
